Sam Rivers

I know some people hate Bizkit, just because they are Bizkit and one of the most uncoventional metal band around.

Anyway, i think the guy that is also good is Sam Rivers' cousin who is the drummer, that guy is super groovy.

for me Fred Durst is not that bad, he is a good rapper rhythmically, but not lyricallyand he is an egomaniac.

Well that's a name I haven't heard in years! Rivers isn't one of those people you think of when talking about great bass players. But he definitely had some cool lines so I'll give him that.

And I wouldn't say LB is metal...more of a poppy hard rock sound. I guess that will probably open a small can of worms so I'll just leave it as "that's my opinion".

He can't be that bad, He has a Wal!

"Rivers originally was endorsed by Ibanez, and one of his basses was a customized BTB 5-string, but currently uses custom made Warwick basses, with light-emitting diodes in the fretboard." - Wikipedia

and apparently...

"Rivers was the youngest member of the band. In fact, when their first album, Three Dollar Bill Y'all, was released, he was only 19 years old." - Wikipedia

I didnt know that.

John Otto is a highly skilled drummer, with much of his background in jazz. Sam, while not a monster, is a damn good bassist, and fills the role in the LB outfit very well, IMO.

I am surprised to see all the Wes love here. I thought he was VERY simple and rudimentary. Hell, even he has said he sucks in interviews. I like him, I just don't think he's a strong point in that band. Live, much of the guitar came from samples by the dj/sampler dude to the left of Otto on stage

Fred Durst is just a doofus.

i love wes.
I like Wes too. Always seemed like a really cool cat in the interviews I've seen/read. I just felt it was his playing that was the weak link in the band though. Certainly not horrible, but not up to par with John or Sam. Just IMO, of course.

dj lethal is the dude left of otto.
DJ Lethal... Thanks. :)

DJ Lethal was in House Of Pain as well.

Brilliant bassplayer. While not one of the most chopsy players if you look at technique alone in the songs he's played in, his basslines fit the bill ridiculously well - and that's what bass is all about.
Seriously speaking, out of a total band perspective, he's one of, if not the best bass player I know. I don't know of any other bassplayer whose basslines back up and lift the song like Sam Rivers. Listen to "Boiler", "Sour" and "Rearranged", for example. Yeah yeah, all the cred to Jaco, Stu Zender and the likes, but Sam's basslines are so good, yet toned down, that the modesty seems to elevate him further. True definition of a bassplayer.

He's like Fieldy, but with more musical qualities.

Yeah, I even heard that they're good friends also (Sam and Fieldy).

I think he's just good bassist with nice sound and he can groove if he want, that's for sure.
He played chrome Warwick and before I think Ibanez and Wal's too but this grindy sound which I like most for LB is rather the sound of Warwick than Ibanez (who knows what he uses in studio:confused: )
