The more basses I play, the more I find myself gravitating towards P basses. Something about their simplicity is just perfect. I don't have to worry about twiddling with knobs to fit in the mix. I just simply set the tone pot to whatever sound I need for the song and play.
Perhaps the next bass you get should be a single coil P
I agree about the simplicity, but the reason I don't have a pbass is because you can only root your hand down over that one pickup! I like to have at least two positions to pluck from!
