Samsung Galaxy S4

I'm honestly not much of a phone geek I just like sexy, shiny tech things. You know what I really want though? The creation of phone variants like the RAZR MAXX to become a standard. I'm pretty sure I'd commit murder for a GS3 with double it's current battery life (though, my battery drain issues have more to do with the custom ROM I'm running, I'm sure).

what rom are you currently using? If you have access to the CPU states you can see if the phone goes in deep sleep when you are not using it.

I'm running PACman. It's crazy versatile (it's a mashup of Paranoid Android, AOKP, and Cyanogenmod). It doesn't have a stable build yet but i like it a lot.

I'll give the CPU settings another look and see what I can tweak. I was running another kernel which helped out a ton but it's not compatible with the latest build that I flashed and my backup is kind of out of date at this point so I'll just wait till they fix the issues.

I only got the Atrix as an upgrade about 5 months ago, so that'll probably be awhile. I'm really thinking of getting GS3 and putting the Atrix on craigslist or something.

Personally, with that kind of time left on your contract, I'd take him up on his offer. Will he take any less? It's worth a shot, right? If, after my S2 died, the S4 wasn't about to be released, I would have had no problem getting an S3.

Thanks for your reply, I think I am going to go ahead and take the phone. I just got 2 more questions. Is it really as easy as just popping my sim card into the new phone and all good to go? And he said that he was on his wife's parents family plan. Then drama happened, and they shut off his phone, which is why he's selling it. Would this pose a problem for me trying to use the phone?

I apologize for my incredible noobitude on this subject.

Most likely a SIM swap is all you'll need to do. When my S2 died, i just swapped out my SIM in my old iPhone, and i was set. Any plan data is stored on the SIM, not the device, so their plan specifics won't affect you at all.

Unfortunately, I don't think it is as simple as swapping the SIM cards. If I remember correctly, every US GS3 is tailor built to its carries and they all have different model numbers (for example the Verizon version is SCH-i535 or d2vzw). However, there's likely a way around that if you want to do some digging. I'd help out if I were at my computer.

If I'm wrong, I apologize. I wasn't aware of any issues with a SIM swap.

Cool, I've never used PACman, there is too much going on for me, I cannot handle that many options :D I usually use Task650's or SlimBean
