Sandwiches!

First choice: Reuben Sandwich. It's difficult to find a place that does them right. It's rye bread, not pumpernickel--sauerkraut, not coleslaw---Thousand Island dressing, not mustard, corned beef, not pastrami.

Second choice--best eaten between midnight and 4 a.m.: Cheese and mustard on white bread.

See my post about Schilo's in San Antonio.

However, I am a philistine, as I prefer yellow mustard to thousand island dressing. I've never been a fan of thousand island dressing.

I meant to take a picture but I'm a glutton so it was gone by the time I remembered. Sausage and pepper hero. Amazing spicy Italian sausage. Really fantastically roasted sweet peppers. Good sauce and good cheese......and thick cut bacon......and olive tapenade. I feel disgusting.

Never mind the fact that they didn't layer the bologna but instead just placed several slices down together. Never mind the fact that the tomatoes are flavorless, pink globs. Whatever. I can deal with it. But how hard is it to SLICE THE BREAD ALL THE WAY THROUGH???!!!

So I went to this place to get my Father-in-law a piece of his past (he used to go there with his Grandpa when he was little). I waited an hour and a half!!! Was entertained the entire time and had a KILLER sandwich!! Sorry no pics, too hungry.

I haven't looked through this thread, so it's probably been mentioned, but I like Firehouse Subs a whole lot. I've also eaten at a place called Greenberg’s Deli that has some really kick ass sandwiches.

Hmm...I've never had Vietnamese BBQ. I'm sure I could get on board with that. I've had the mint laden rice noodles and the spring rolls and they were okay. I know a lot of people like pho but I'm not really a soup guy...but BBQ? drool

Sorry for the bad info I ment to type Korean and instead typed Vietnamese ... in my saliva-fall I was overly distracted :)

Pho is great, but I hate eating it in a restaurant because I need a friggin' poncho to keep my shirt from being a complete mess by the end.:atoz:
