Saw a friend from high school tonight.....

That won't happen. UFC is brutal. More than I can normally stand. I usually only watch for maybe one minute.

I am really thinking it will, if you compare it to the really early UFC's the new owners have made a LOT of changes did things like:

- match up guys with 50-100+ pound weight differences. That's just crazy
- Defender is defenseless. The ref will jump in and stop the fight at the first sign the defender is not actively defending himself.
- Refs jump in at the first sign of a knockout, no standing 10 counts..it's been debated that compared to boxing with the many, many headshots those guys take. Long rounds, Repeated knockdown/standups. Long term boxing is more dangerous.

they have a huge ways to go in public perception though. I am pulling for them all the way.

Wow that's much better than seeing someone you went to high school on the sex-offender list.
Someone I went to high school with just got arrested in California for randomly murdering some lady on her way to church at a gas station on the way. He bludgeoned her with a hammer and stabbed her.

He was a nice quiet kid. He used to often hang out at a bar I tended at. He was never a problem at school or there. He's standing next to me in a yearbook picture and I escorted his twin sister in a May crowning ceremony at the school.

Weird...:scowl:

That reminds me....
A few weeks ago there was some house party shooting where some guy walked in and opened fire on a bunch of college aged kids, then shot himself.
That shooter was at one of our last shows at the Central in Seattle. My singer remembers talking to him at the bar.

Getting back to the lighter stuff............

I graduated high school in 1995, the same school as Chris Irvine (though a few years after), son of NY Rangers alum Ted Irvine. Chris (now Jericho) went on to bigger and better things, though, entertaining millions on the WWE stage! Great guy, last time I saw him was when his band "Fozzy" came through town. Still a super nice guy, always was.

Just two weeks ago or, a girl at my work said "Whatever you do, don't watch TV at 10:30 this wednesday"

LOL. She was on the Montel Williams show. Not as an audience member, but as a guest on the show. She saw this crazy psychic lady. Hi-frikkin-larious. Not the same thing as what you guys are talking about, but worth mentioning.

So I saw UFC 59 last night, and Snowman is ripped! It definitely didn't look like he was endorsing any supplements....

I missed it, bummer. Yeah, he is huge. I couldn't believe it.

I'm hoping to hit up his training center some time in the next couple weeks. I'm sure I'll be in for a beat down, but that's OK. Just some motivation to get stronger. and quicker. Maybe I'll start training in the mixed martial arts.
