saying something wrong that dooms your date

Heres a great one that ended a date for me that I will share with you. First date of the year really nothing more then a hookup with an hour of conversation before. Well we had planned I would stay the night but when I was asked if I would like to watch Shrek after we were done I pretty much just got up and left.

(I'm 20 at the time and she's 17...paraphrased)

"Highschool dance, huh? Isn't there anyone else you'd rather go with? Chances are pretty good I'll be drunk and you won't want to introduce me to anyone. Tell you what. Why don't call a few of your guy friends. If none of them will go and I'm absolutely the last resort, call me back."

How could this possibly fail?

Was the understanding that you let her come over to **** as long as she doesn't tell anybody and you don't have to go anywhere with her?

:D
Not really. She went to a number of parties and small gatherings with me in the short time we were together. Quite honestly she was pretty hot and I had no problems being seen with her in public. At the time, I'd have preferred to drive an unsharpened pencil through my foot than attend a highschool dance. I guess the understanding was that she was free to hang out in my social setting with my social circle, but I would not be reciprocating.

Once I had a guy take me to Ed Debevics, a fun Chicago hamburger joint. When we got the menu he started going over the fat content of every item on the menu. Then he ordered a salad (I hate it when guys order salads, a salad is NOT a meal!) and when I ordered a hamburger he started freaking out about the fat content of the hamburger. And that I didn't order a diet coke. HELLO? Did he NOT notice there isn't any fat on my body? And we're at a hamburger joint. Where they sell fat-filled hamburgers! I demanded he take me home after dinner. Freak.

I love you.

Holy crap. Yeah, that type of idiocy is not to be tolerated.
Didja enjoy the cheezburger? Did you chew it and show it to him? :smug:
I would've been like "Ok, me and my cheezburger will be sitting at that table over there. Enjoy the bunny grub"

Are you sure that was really a guy?

First year...

Her: Where's my shirt?
Me: I don't know, hurry up I've got a test in 20 minutes
(at this point, you'd think this MAY be bad enough, but lo)
Her: I can't find my shirt, can I have one of yours?
Me: I think the real question is 'can you fit in one of mine'

Realistically it didn't doom anything that I cared about... but it most likely kept me from ever hooking up with any of her friends... meh.

Dunno! He had all sorts of weird things about him. Like, when I said something instead of saying "ok" or "I got it" or "I hear ya" he'd say "check."

He was obsessed with his body and looking good. Me, I only run when I'm being chased.

Seriously, I don't think salads work as diet food. Because I see fat people eating salads all the time and they don't seem to be getting any skinnier. I think it's the Myth of the Salad. Plus, you never see skinny rabbits.

I once made a mistake and presented a girl I was dating to all my friends (in group) using...the wrong name. She immediately got red in the face and the redness didn't die down till I got her home.

Needless to say, I've never seen her or heard of her ever again. Not proud of that moment but hey, **** happens.

Mulva?

Good to see you have standards. :)

This thread has major deliverage.

Broke up with a lady one time. We were living together but
she developed a penchant for wanting the occasional Friday
night 'off'. The second time that happened I loaded up the
wagons and moved.

This being back in the dark ages when we neither wanted nor
needed phones, it took her 3 weeks to find me.

We agreed to a date at a local Greek place. I figured some
raw onions and Feta cheese was going to be a good start
for this sizzler of a date.

After about an hour and a half we end up back in front of her
place. That's when she said 'Want to come up?'

Payback is a real bunny. My answer, 'Thanks, I think I'll pass.
Thanks for the Chlamydia by the way.'
