I am getting ready to order one of these but cant decide which color. Leaning toward the white with rosewood but would like to see some pics with different colored pickguards if anyone has any to share.

Replacement pickguard for Sterling StingRay Short Scale Bass SS - MANY COLORS! | Precision Guitar | ReverbWhere are you guys all getting these black pickguards and how much?
I think the white looks pretty sharp. So maybe just a pearl (not aged) white? There’s also graphical options.I posted a review of my SBMM Stingray short scale a while ago and have done a couple of things to it since then.
The Stingray tone is growing on me, but its still a little too aggressive and bright so I put a set of LaBella light flats on it and I'm loving the tone. Its deep and powerful, but still has that aggressive edge to it.
I also changed out the tuners for Hipshot Ultralights. It feels so much lighter and better balanced now. It wasn't neck diving, bit was on the verge. Now it feels light and balanced and really comfortable.
I'm thinking about a new pickguard to replace the white. Black maybe? Or aged white pearloid? What do you think goes with the copper?

It would be easy to fill the screw holes and top with white paint. At least the color match would be easy.I just use me shortie at home but removed the white pick guard almost immediately after buying the bass. The screws don’t look great but the holes are too rough without them.
I guess I could look for a clear pick guard. Removing it makes it look like my G&L L-1000!

That’s where I got mine from. I bought 2 Stingray SS PG’s and a guitar PG from this shop. I highly recommend them.
You must not have ever tried to match white paints before. It would be easy to fill the screw holes and top with white paint. At least the color match would be easy.

Oh sure, there are a number of whites. I have had the best luck by going to a paint store and comparing the sample books to get the color I want. Time consuming perhaps, but better than getting ecru when you are really looking for parchment. You must not have ever tried to match white paints before.![]()
That looks fantastic!!View attachment 4417374 View attachment 4417373 My experiment with thin aluminum turned out decent enough so I ordered an 1/8” thick sheet of brushed aluminum and made a pick guard and control plate today. I’m happy enough with the result but they didn’t turn out as nice as I’d hoped. Minimal tools is what I’m blaming it on. Anyway, hard to tell from the pics but they have a dull brushed appearance from me finishing them with 320 grit sandpaper. I definitely like this look over the white.
Oh and put some chrome flats on it too. Freaking love the sound. Still punchy but more of a tamed, mellow punch. Hard to describe but I’m digging it.
