I want one, 5 string, 17mm spacing, 33" scale, P pickup in the sweet spot, double J at the bridge please.

Ninety degrees would be easier but not look as purdy.

It's called rope binding because it looks like rope made from three twisted strands.

I guess that 90 degree cuts would look OK too, but would look more "dental" molding (looks like teeth).

Neck is on. Next up, fabricate 4 string bridge saddle and tailpiece bar.

Assembled. Experimental rubber bridge needs revisions. I have tonight and tomorrow.

Groggy used block of rubber because curious how it sounds. Easy to replace if it stinks.

Lemme guess, when you plucked a string, it sounded like "fwub". Am I close?

At the high end of the fretboard, you may be right. Harmonics... big nope. At the low end, it seemed like a solid thud with very short sustain. There was a little too much "boing" to the sound. I attribute this to having too soft of a rubber block at hand. If you search "rubber guitar bridges" on google, you will see what others have achieved, but only with guitars.
Maybe I'll try it on one of my hollow bass VIs.
