i runned across some ads on the web about cheap prices, and aparently, this people:

Link Removed

are selling stuff at really cheap prices, I MEAN REALLY CHEAP!!!

like a rickenbacker 4003 for Link Removed (around 400 dollars?)

or a Link Removed 5 strings for 476 euros

and so on...

so, in now days competitive world of prices, its really strange to see one seller to offer a price much lower than ANYBODY ELSE... and that makes me suspicius
is it ilegal?
is it a hoax?
is it a limeted time offer?
or... is this real and im missing my chance? (ok, thats what i WANT to believe )

i tried to chat with them on msn, but it was either a non-english speaking guy or somekind of robot-machine ("the precies on the web are our wholesale prices!" was his answer to my questions...)
so... im calling then on phone, and well see...

in the mean time, any expirience? advise? someone willing to buy from them and confirm? ;)

There are places in Indonesia where you can buy an iPod for $60. It even says "Made by Aeple" on the back. Might even play mp3s, too.

Seriously, dude, China. They make everything there, and slap on whatever brand name they think of. Don't send them a freakin cent.

If it sounds too good to be true, 99.9% of the time it is. Don't be an idiot, nobody sells basses for those kind of prices. The fact the English used is atrocious should only have indicated further to you that this was a load of rubbish.

Isn't it weird that under Musical>> Guitars>> there are 7 pages of basses, and not one regular guitar???

Usually we get 1/4 the product selection as the other guys, but evidently this site is for bassists only! Shouldn't we support them for this?? :hyper:

Haha they even sell motorbikes. I wrote them a mail once about a Warwick and they told me that its for real, but I wouldnt trust them for anything.
As being far away from most buyers they are more than safe anyhow, so they can offer and say what they want to.

The number one way you can tell:
They don't take Visa, AMEX, or Mastercard. I went through part of the checkout process (of course, I didn't put any of my info in..) and the only way they accept payment are ways that have NO recourse for the buyer. These days, ANYONE can get set up in a matter of minutes to accept a major credit card as payment. And any legitimate merchant would.

But, if you decide to try buying from them, enjoy your "Rickenbonker"!

I just did a whois lookup on the domain name (it can tell you who owns aol188.com) and all the information entered except the country (Bejing, China) is all BS info. That means you have no idea who you're doing business with, and no way to find out. A real company puts their information in their registry so that their domain rights are protected.

"ah man this site is so tempting! i just saw that 400$ rick, i dont know what to think! i really hope you guys are right when you say its fake, otherwise we're missing ridiculous deals!"

Hey dude, send me the 400 bucks instead and I'll send you a beat up old 50 buck bass with three of the four strings missing. That will be a heck of alot more than your going to get from the guy selling the Rick.

Yup, China makes pretty much everything we ever use and therefore has the capability to copy everything we ever use, apart from a few sleak guitars, some cutlery and New Balance running trainers... but not the casual wear ones.

Apparently these copies (of everything) end up being sold to high street shops, even official outlet shops, and we buy it. To be honest they're so good at copying stuff that you wouldn't know the difference alot of the time. The conditions the copies are made often aren't great and where making the originals isn't exactly like working for Google or Pixar studios or anything.

I knew a guy who bought an Alphine system for his car dirt cheap. The same old scams always try to pretty themselves up over time. The problem is that you can't put makeup over a musta...SPECTOR REBOP FOR 195 EUROS AND EURO 4 FOR 488?? Holy crap...I'M THERE!!!!!
