Schaller "S" locks.

I've used the old style schaller locks and basses and guitars for years. They worked well enough with the exception of a few annoying design issues ( nut hard to screw tight and would come undone from time to time, bit of a rattle, post too short for thick leather straps).

Saw they had a new version (S) so I ordered a few sets. They fixed every issue, no more rattle, easy nut to tighten by hand, longer post and the nut has a lock screw.

so I ordered them for my wife's guitars and my gigging basses. of the 5 sets I ordered, all were fine with the exception of one of the pieces that was a little different. the spring that returns the part you pull out to disconnect didn't return as well as the others. still works, just a bit sticky? anyway I though maybe it needed some lubrication or something, but I figured it'd be best to email the company for advice. Got an email back in about 10 minutes from Lars, the owner of the company offering to send me a brand new set. Gave him my address and they came a few days later from germany.

Schaller S locks. solid product, excellent customer service.

cheers

I like Schallers Straplocks.
But I don't like the new S-Locks.
I can't use them on my Tune basses.

The bottom strap peg is right HERE. 20200112_094247.jpg
If I put on a S-lock it jabs into my leg when I play sitting.
It stands too tall.
So I use the old style Straplocks.

The old style were my choice of strap locks for a long time. I used blue thread lock to keep the nuts tight.
The new S locks fix all the issues and have slightly bigger screws for the strap pegs so they fix loose strap pegs at the same time. I’ve bought 4 sets this month. Will be buying more.

No matter what you use it will be jabbing you in that spot. Maybe you could fabricate a piece of leather to cover it up?

I've had regular Schallers on it up until the tryout.
They didn't jab me.But the S-locks did.

So I put the old Schallers back on my TWB and put the S-Locks on my G Style bass.
It doesn't have that lower strap peg in that spot.

I would have never tried them if the hadn’t come with the Ibanez EHB1005. I’m impressed. I never liked the older style Schaller licks, these I like as they seem to address many of the things I disliked with the older models.
