Any idea on what the Progauge line is? I could not find any info on Schecter's websites, and the only place I could find info about the Progauge basses are on sites like Ikebe.

Anyway, it looks like a nice bass; black and maple with black blocks, sign me up!

I didnt know there was a club. I have a butterscotch Model T. Great bass, bought it sight unseen, comes in around 9lbs, nice flat neck, punchy tone. I still have the original strings on it..

So my California Custom is a long scale. 35" I think. Anyone have a good string suggestion, so I can actually string it through the body?

I've not been playing bass seriously for very long, but the last few times I bought strings, looking for long scale, the dude behind the counter gives me what he's sure will fit, and I usually find out by the A string that it won't work. Then I end up pulling them out and stringing it through the bridge.

One guy recommended SIT strings. The last set was a set of 5 string boomers that said on the package that they were long scale, but the cloth on the tip of the B string didn't even pass the nut. Bummed again.

hi guys. i have a schecter stiletto studio-5 that i'm going to mod with EMG-DC pickups and black hipshot hardware. my question is what string spacing do i select for the hipshot a-style bridge. they have .669", .687", .708", .728", .750" and .787". which one will drop in without any alterations? and are the tuners 1/2" or 3/8"

I've used Daddario XLs in my Stiletto (also 35" through bridge) without difficulty. The trick is to get the right set from them. They come in regular, long, and super-long scale. GC/SA in my area only stock the long-scale, which isn't gonna cut it (I too had the nylon rap on the B-string sit in the nut). The super-long scale had more than enough clearance past the nut.

Though I don't have the Bass anymore (the weight, 11+lbs, caused Bursitis in my left shoulder ..but I LOVED the sound!!)....
You need Super Long Scale. I use D'Addario EXL 170-5SL Super long for 35" through body stringing.....:cool:

I'm joining the club with a new Schecter Damien Solo Elite. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about this bass ever since I saw it hanging on the wall at Parker Music in Houston. The choice was made for me when the store posted a $50 off coupon last week, bringing the cost of this new bass down to $325. It's a discontinued model, so it was now or never!

This bass is infinitely playable. The string spacing and low action make it wonderful to slap or dig in with a pick to lay down some metal baselines. The versatility is really quite surprising for a bass in this price range. The LP body shape is classy, the finish is gorgeous, and the inlays are welcome surprise. Buy one of these if you ever spot one.
