Schecter Owner's Club, pt 2

Well for it being 4 years old and a display model, I think the price is hefty seeing as I could get a new 4 for the same price.

And I noticed something interesting. This older model only has 2 knobs, so I guess they are 2 volumes while the new ones have 3 probably being 2 volumes and a blend or tone.

According to a review this one fits a stargazer so it would probably fit an 004 or 004 elite.

And after looking up a little bit of info, its either this or the universal Schecter SGR-UNIV/6 case that isn't molded.

Schecter SGR-5SB: fits all stilettos 4, 5, and 6's.
Schecter SGR-6B: Fits all Omen, "C" basses and Stargazer basses.
Schecter SGR-UNIV/6: Model T, Diamond J, Diamond P Custom, Rio,t All Lefty Models
^^^ basically a universal case.

Yeah, i have the 6B. It works, but my tuners got a little hung up at first. But with a little reworking of the foam by hand, it does a little better.

Same here...I have two Warwick bags* now, and I don't need a hard case right now at all - getting a hard case would be sorta 'future-proofing' for when I do get a for-real gig or something...


* nice bags...these can sometimes be picked up cheap @ GC, but you have to ask about them - I got them after the Warwicks they came with were sold and for whatever reason the buyer didn't want the bag. They were $30 each and fit both my 004 and my Stiletto as if they were made for them.

That is nice, and it...ummm...says right in the ad that it's a Korean Diamond...and that maple-topped finish looks remarkably similar to my mahogany-topped Stiletto (I've been meaning to post a sunlight-powered pic of it since the black-cherry discussions a few pages back...I'll get that done sometime this weekend).

Haha no you misunderstand. The california custom model is a diamond series bass made in korea. It's an older one that they don't make anymore.

But this one on ebay has J pickups. Interesting. It's not a diamond J but it's not exactly a cali custom.

EDIT: It's a Schecter California Custom, I was right.

Ok, so, welcome to the guys new to both the forums and the club.

I've managed to get a bunch more hours at work, and as soon as my last ER bill is paid in full and my car radiator is fixed, I can start saving up again for my Diamond P and my Model T.

And if my next VA appointment goes well, I may be able to go ahead and place my custom shop order. My disability pension should be going up by several grand. :)

I've already gotten the quote from the custom shop... my custom design will run me about $4.5k.

My design goes like this:

Telecaster (guitar) style body, rear-routed, no pick guard. Burl maple veneer, translucent navy blue finish. Semi-hollow, one f-hole. MM humbucker in the bridge position, one MM(J) style single coil in the middle position, passive, active/passive preamp. Two tone, one blend, one volume, one of those knobs being push/pull for the preamp. All hardware pewter colored, matte style. Through-body neck, matching headstock in the shape of a Stiletto or 004 headstock (not sure which I like better, prolly Stiletto). Neck width and radius identical to my Stiletto Elite-4, also a four-banger. High mass string through/top load bridge. 34" scale, jumbo frets, ebony fingerboard,only two inlays: a single bone shape at the 12, and my old Navy rate insignia (CT) at the 1. Side mounted jack, and some sort of (internal) weight at the base of the body it prevent neck-dive.

Once I get this gorgeous lady, I will never want for another instrument again.

Anybody with wicked photoshop skills wanna try to build that there lady for me? :)
