Had to act quick after noticing that Schecter discontinued them and was able to get one of the last ones that were available in Europe. The chances of getting a used one are pretty much zero over here, so it was now or never.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that the Raiden appears to have the same neck as what's on my Stiletto (I just tried to pull up Schecter's site to confirm this, but it's under maintenance ATM...). Both my Stiletto and my 004 (both are 34" scale) have the same neck dimensions; a 1 1/2" nut width, 2 1/8" at the 12th fret. IIRC, the Schecters I've played in shops, etc. seemed to have similar necks, and I think that it's a standard for most all of their basses.

The GC ad says it comes with a case at that price...not a bad deal at all. Neither of mine came with so much as a gig bag...gonna pull the trigger on one?

I am thinking about it Mudd. I really like the slim necks that most of the Ibanez and the old Peaveys have. How does the Schecter neck compare to those? Yes, the case is what's really pulling me hard! :bassist:

I've not much experience with Ibanez in general, but both of mine do feel rather similar to my friend's ancient Peavey something-something, with his maybe being slightly wider about halfway down the neck. I expect to see him and the bass later this week...I'll try to get measurements and what model it actually is, if that helps any.

Cool! You know I just realized I have a C-4 Aged White and a Stiletto Custom here in my 'for sale' basses. If you think the Raiden neck is the same, I guess I could just go check those! :confused:

The case addition is sweet but it isn't being offered with any other Schecter or any other bass that I've searched in the 3-5 hundred dollar range. Very interesting why they picked the Raiden to give a case away.

Hey, I own two of them...what more to say?

Seriously, I think Schecters in general are rather under-rated instruments...I'd put my S. Korean built 004 up against most MIA Fenders (maybe not the Custom Shop issues, but other than that...) and definitely above the MIM stuff. Tone-wise is harder to quantify...tone is a personal thing, IMO. That said, and after a few months' experimenting with different strings for each, I'm VERY happy with what mine produce tone-wise. I've given some thought to swapping out the pre in my Stiletto for a three-band Aggie, but it's not as if I HAVE to do this to get good tone.

I should do that myself...

Weirdo thing I just now noticed - look at the bridge saddles on RickyGedde's Stiletto vs the saddles on TD's (and both of mine are like that also)...Ricky's saddles are descending L to R, and TD's are the opposite...am I missing something here?
