Schecter users: What do you use

First off and @ Dan...contact DR directly - there's at least one other thread here somewhere that talks about broken string fresh out of the package, and being replaced by the mfgr. Save the string (actually, save all the strings) and your purchase receipt, just in case.

And updating my earlier post - I replaced my Stiletto's prev-gen Fender Flats with the new-gen Fender Flats (the maybe-Chromes) and I'm really happy so far!

Tried to call DR but all I got were weird dial up tones at the other end. I know it wasn't my phone because I called a department in my university shortly after and I got through just fine. I guess I will call tomorrow.

I will be saving all the strings. I took pictures of the strings with the receipt and the box while the strings were still on the bass. I replaced the broken A string with the GHS A that I had lying around (the GHS D and G strings were broken).

In a way I am glad that I am not the only person this has happened to. Thing is, this worries me about DR's quality control.

Glad to hear your strings are doing fine. You have soundclips?

Concerning the DR situation. I went to the music store and got a new set free of charge (thanks Amherst Music!). Hopefully these ones won't break like the last set. If they do, it might be something wrong with the bass (which would suck).

That's good to hear, especially with the prices stringsets cost. One of the few areas where/when I'm jealous of the guitards is on string prices, us vs them...jeez, they get 10 packs of good strings for what...$12-15 dollars sometimes. Admittedly, ours are rather harder to manufacture and use more material, but still...

And thanks for the upload site suggestions...I'd for gotten about Mediafire.
