Greetings All,
It all began when I helped a buddy restore an 1970 SVT (I played bass while he twiddled) a few years back. To make matters worse he loaned it to me for a recording session...argh! I had to have one.
No sane man would ship a vintage one down here only to find it was DOA or service hungry. Thank God for the re-issue SVT VR.
I bit the bullet and had one road-cased and shipped by sea(!) to New Zealand. While we waited we designed and put together a straight-back 6x10 based on his original Ampeg '69 straight back 8x10. Infinite baffle, Beta 10's. I didn't know about the NV610 till I joined Talkbass!!!!
The amp arrived and was converted from 110v to 230v internally by tracing the board and it's since been a marvellous 9 months of big amp heaven.
I replaced the stock Sovtek 6550 with a matched sextet of Svetlana Winged C 6550 last night.
I now have a handful of Tungsol 12AX7 to put into the pre-amp.
Can anyone provide the schematic(s) so I can work out which is V1 etc?
I mailed Loud but haven't heard back from them.
Also... sadly the blueline graphics on the faceplate fought with some gaffer tape and lost. My panel has bald patches and looks 38 years old!!
If I was geeky enough to replace it would the Fliptops vintage part fit?
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Could I get the proper VR part through Loud now production is offshore?
Here's me rig attached...
Cheers
Rob Collins
