Schroeder 1515L question.

I recently bought one of these for a steal. Bought it for a light acoustic tour I was hired to play on.

The artist I was backing went nuts and it never happened, I never had much time with this cab.

I'm thinking about bringing it to practice one of these days, I play in a pretty loud rock band.

The design of this cab is not traditional, it has 2 large drivers stuffed inside a small box.

I'm not a cab expert, but I know bass cabs often need a lot of space inside to sound good.

What should I expect from this cab? I play with a warm vintage mid type tone. I'm afraid the warmth and low end wont be there.

Any experiences? I was thinking about running it with my LDS 410 with beta 10's. Wasn't thinking about doing it, but I recently stacked the 410 on top of the 1515 the other day when I was organizing my gear. They look great together, almost too good. Both being 8 ohms, I'm thinking it might be a good large show rig.

Well, i would give a Sansamp BDDI a try if it doesn't get the "warmth". I used one with my Schroe's (i have a different config than yours), but it worked fantastic. They are a "tight" sounding cab, but the BDDI really warmed up the bottom end for me.. It couldn't hurt.

You could crush it with both cabs though.. try it, right? :D

Yeah, I also play a P would rounds, Ashdown head with a VT Bass Pedal. I hope I can "kill" it with this rig?

Looking for a 810 look with a sick wall of sound that I carry up a flight of stairs.

I think that would sound pretty nice.

I have both an 8ohm 1012L and a 1215L, not quite the same as your 1515 but I like the depth I get from both of them, especially for their size and weight.

Onstage I tended to either pair them together or with an EA CXL112 for a bit of extra contrast. The EA is a virtual foghorn at 127 SPL but the Schroe's keep up nicely so you should be good with a 410. They can push a lot of air. I thought they were slightly on the warm side but generally clean.

I have the 12" version of your cab - the 1212L. I use it will my MarkBass 12" combo amp when I play large venues or outdoors. It is LOUD and it has much the same sound as the MarkBass cab, which means it is quite good. Schroeder really know how to make a small cab that sounds large.

I played it a little today, it sounds very tight, similar to my NV610.


If I ever want to put a stoner rig together, would the NV610 be a poor choice to run on top of the 1515L? I would use a 2 channel head, so I'm not concerned about power issues.

I'm not a sound expert, so anyone's input would be appreciated.
