Has anyone had experience with these two cabs? I own an Acme 2x10 and love the sound, but am curious how a schroeder of comparable size would stack up. Thoughts? Insights?

Schroeder vs. Acme

Schro is more efficient and VERY mid focused. Your bass will growl a lot more, but this is not everyone's goal. After trying both I decided on Bergantino.
People here are going to tell you that these two makes are at opposite ends of the tonal continuum and efficiency continuum - with the Schroeders weighing in as very midrange-intensive, very efficient, and very loud...while the Acmes go very deep, are very inefficient, and sound quite soft.

Exactly! I greatly prefer some of the Schroeder's to the Acme's. Other's feel just the opposite.
These two lines of cabs virtually define the opposite ends of the voicing continuum.
+1 to the above. Acme's are very flat and can seem artificially boomy because of it (we aren't used to hearing flat response in the low end). Schroeder's are super midrangey, and very loud because of it. The "lows" are there, but they seem very tight, versus very "pillowy" and smooth, which is more characteristic of the Acme.
I also vastly prefer the Schroeder voicing, although I've only heard them at Bass Club Chicago, and have only played an Acme B2 on one gig.

+1 to all that, except I'm not sure I'd call the Acmes "soft". But I think of the Schroeders as often "harsh" and sometimes "squawky". I find Accugroove and a couple of others to be "polite" and "soft", with Acme somewhere in the middle. Right now, I'm playing only Acmes and Bergantinos.
