I've got an Ibanez sr506 fretless that's a killer player. The only problem is that when I turn the volume knob I get an annoying scratchy static sound. Does anyone know how I can get rid of that?

Yes, the Caig comes with a little tube to allow you to direct the flow. Most pots are open backed so there'll be a little gap in them to allow you to get the fluid in. Use sparingly, ie a 'tap' squirt and then rotate the pot end to end a few times and test. If still not 100%, repeat. If you need to do it more than 2 or 3 times, the pot is likely toast. If the pot is sealed and it's scratchy, also toast, but try a few end to end rotations in the hope it might help.
I have the same problem on my srx 505. Only on the blend, bass and treble pots as well as the volume.
Just get some contact cleaner at Radio Shack. Relatively inexpensive. It's worked wonders for me.

Contact cleaner usually does the job nicely. It's cheap, and available at any electronic shop. Just spray the pots a little and dry the excess, that's it
I was being sarcastic. I don't get how someone can spend a heap on a bass then not want to spend a little on maintenance.
Rotation will clear some noise, sometimes, but definitely not always. I spent years in broadcast maintenance, so I have a little experience.
i had scratchy pots on my korean pbass. because one of the pots would turn and not stop turning and they looked cheap - i installed new pots - i actually replaced both pots and the jack with new wiring and cap. made a world of difference ! i bought a kit off ebay.
