Sealed Big Cabs- Berg, Ampeg

So is there anything else out there worth looking at besides the Berg NV stuff or the Ampeg 810's for a solid sealed design? I'm familiar with the Bergs but not with the 810's. What era/speaker setup/etc. should I look for in the Pegs, or just hold out for an NV when one pops up?

Yep me too, if I had the room in my van. I usually have to take our PA so the NV412 only just fits...(tho I'll always make room for it:p)

The NV412's my fave cab apart from the SVT810 & I don't feel I'm missing much.

Others I know of apart from those listed- Mark Bass CL108/106 (both discontinued sadly but can be found used)
SWR Marcus Miller 410
Ampeg 410HE

I'm a Berg NV610 fan (my Ampeg SVT-II non-pro sounds fantastic through it). I used to have a Berg NV215, but I like the NV610 more (seems punchier than the NV215). I have never played through an NV412 so I have no info to offer on that cab.

In addition to the 810e cab that JimmyM mentioned, another option is to have Fliptops.net make you a sealed cab (4x10 or 8x10), or have Don Oatman at Low Down Sound (LDS) make you a sealed cab of any configuration you want.

Yeah I've had the NV610 and the NV425 (great cab actually) but these are seemingly few and far between nowadays so was wondering if the 810e's were up to snuff, or which ones I should/shouldn't be on the lookout for.

My thoughts on the 2004? Too dark sounding. Cabs from 2000-2006 have reduced treble content compared to earlier ones and later ones. You can EQ it back in to a degree, but I still don't think it sounds as good.

The deal on the new ones: excellent, some of the best cabs to come out under the Ampeg name in years. Made with plywood and not OSB (almost all SLM cabs are made with OSB), and speakers that aren't all dark sounding.

Sweet, thx. I let the '04 pass as the guy was all antsy to sell it. A pretty close GC has an 810e in Used Inventory I emailed them about earlier. If they still have it I'll be checking it out this weekend.
The "e" series are the ones with the "holes" in the top for an amp to set it's rubber feet in, correct? It looks dead-on to the ones listed currently on the 'Peg site.

Actually, all the 810s made since the early 90's are called 810e's, unless they were made with the vintage styling, and they were called 810av's. Same cab, different cosmetics.
