Searching for a Bass Delay pedal

The Jack Deville is an awesome delay. Of course I dont have any reference against any other delay pedals but I do have a Digitech multi effects rig that I play my Baritone through and its got a Perfect Circle ripoff effect (Perfect Oval) that im fond of. This delay is very comparable to that sound.

So I ordered a Dark Echo and prob will be ordering a TC Alter Ego V2 tonight. I've been using an Echolution 2 Deluxe but it's way too much pedal for my needs.
side note: I gotta agree about the El Cap. I have a V1 and it compliments the sub 37 (and my basses) wonderfully

I chose the Empress Tape Delay for my use. More functions on it than what I would need for bass but I plan to use it for guitar as well. The tap tempo switch and ability to click off and still have tails is awesome. Has modulation as well as hi and lo pass filter switches. The tape switch add's in that tape sound. I still haven't tried it with guitar I'm having so much fun with it on the bass and with the band.

I know this is somewhat of an old thread. However, I thought I'd hit it with the ol' Defibrillator and ask a few questions now that I too am going down this road...

Lots of folks are talking about the TC Flashback. I'm seeing both the 4 knob regular and the 3 knob Mini. Are they basically the same? And the Tone Print, I'm not seeing that the 4 knob has it?

The MXR Carbon Copy was brought up a few times too. Seems worth a look.

Are the delays in the Zoom B3 useable? I'm kinda liking what I'm seeing in this thing.

The two Flashbacks sound the same. The Mini only has the single Tone Print setting. The regular one has a Tone Print preset plus all the other presets (analog, tape, digital, etc.) to select from.

I'm currently using a Malekko 616, which has a great thick sound and *great* modulation, but I'm thinking about switching to the Flashback for the clarity when using high regeneration levels.

The Zoom sounds interesting. Is the tech getting good enough that an affordable multi-fx can rival a hand-picked pedalboard?

Smeet, I don't think that ONE multi will ever replace a hand picked board. WAAAYYY too many individual tastes for that. But... Compromises can be made. I've been doing a LOT of research and am seeing a lot of TBers that use the B3. 100 Million Chinese eating rice has gotta tell you something... Lol...

FWIW, I've completely changed my opinion.
Digital delay DOES do the job for bass players well, however it doesn't mean analogy's are muddy.

Delay pedal binge complete, I've settled on a Deluxe Memory Man with Tap Tempo 1100 (I also own a Maxon AD900)
Yeah yeah, it's an expensive option, but it's also a complete option - it has tap tempo, it has self-oscillation hands-free, it has bright repeats (that work for bass and guitar alike) and it has modulation you can either turn on or opt out from.
I sold the Hazarai once I got a grip on this and realised this is my desert island delay.
The hazarai is a great pedal that does things no other pedal I've tried can do, but the DMMTT1100 is incredible.

The DMMTT1100 has been on my board now for a year, it has killed off ALL gas for delay completely.

Source Audio Nemesis. Tons of delay options, tap tempo. stereo in/out. Smallish footprint considering how powerful it is. Definitely what I'm gonna buy once I save up enough for it.
