Searching for a Bass Delay pedal

Hard to go wrong with any delay pedal for bass response. I've not heard any that strip out lows. Some are more lo-fi than others, but sometimes that's really cool. Got any particular feature set you're looking for? Looping? Tap tempo? Insane wackiness?

Not generally a pedals guy, but I get a lot of mileage out of a simple and cheap EHX Memory Boy. Nice, warm and simple analog delay and chorus-like effects in one pedal.

moog minifooger delay is said to be designed for bass. the mxr carbon copy works for bass aswell. they're both analog.

another vote for the MXR Carbon Copy with the MOD button engaged (and combined with the tweaks you can make via the internal trim pots) sounds fantastic on Bass!

in fact IMHO it is the BEST analog Delay out there for the price point and box size.... does very tight slapback

the Red Witch Violetta......and the Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail get my next runner up vote!...... especially the Vapor Trail, as it has a send and return feature (so in effect you can color the delay with other pedals)

There is no bass specific delay, but make sure you go Digital as analog delays muddy up when played in a band context.

This has been my experience too, although I do love analog delays all the same.

I use the SMM with Hazarai > not the greatest digi out there, but it's got numerous presets and a looper included, and can be found rather cheap 2nd hand.

If you change the delay time, does the CC change the pitch? I love that feedbacky screaming siren sound...

Yeah, and it goes into self-oscillation pretty easily.

RE: the muddying up from analog pedals, never really noticed it but I've only had the CC for about a month now and haven't done a lot of gigs with it.

MXR Carbon Copy or TC Flashback. The TC is responsible for the best digital delays over the years (TC2290), can't go wrong with them.

Strymon El'Capistan, there's like nothing you can't tweak on that one. And you can get exactly how much low-end you want(or don't want) on the repeats. Or how dark or dirty or overdriven you want them to be.
I love mine.

I've used dd3, echo park, Marshall echohead, ehx memory toy, dd6, dd7 and I have a carbon copy on my board.
They all have their strengths, and I've not found the analog ones to get lost in the mix.
As a one stop try loads of sounds choices, I'd go for a secondhand echohead. It has 6 different modes from analog thru tape to digital sounds available.
It also has a socket on the side for a tap tempo

Flashback is really cool, but I hate the tap tempo. I kicked myself for the money I spent on my El Capistan, but it's infinitely better than anything else I've tried, including quite a few rack delays.

The TC Electronics Flashback does that - digital delays can do that too. And as someone else mentioned, it's also a looper.

Has anyone compared the flashback to the carbon copy? In terms of fat lush sound, is the flashback as fun and inspiring to play? I know it has more features, but enjoyment?

Just bought a TC Flashback mini from Reverb. Will post up when I receive and demo it out. I was looking for mainly reverb/thickening, and with the toneprint and app, I figured a delay was a nicer option than pure reverb.

I recently tried the Alexander Amnesia and was blown away. Awesome "analog voiced" delay with a 3 way switch that can make it go muddy to crystal clear. And on top of that you can add Vibrato or Chorus. Can even turn the delay off and use it as a dedicated Chorus/Vibrato. Killer pedal.

Any delay will work. For cheaper options check out the Joyo Digital Delay and Mooer ReEcho. I've used both and was pleasantly surprised (especially with the Joyo).

I can vouch for DD3 too! Great sounding delay.
