Searching For A Delay-I have needs..

I've tried a few different delays, both analog and digital. I've shopped for many more. I'm having a hard time tracking down a delay with all the features I want:

-Clear, distinct echoes.
-Up to 2 seconds of delay
-Specific built-in tap tempo. This is a big deal. Holding down the switch to go into tap tempo mode (as with some Boss delays) won't cut it. I need to change on the fly.
-An LED that blinks to the set tempo would be handy, but not necessary.
-Looping would be nice, but I can definitely do without it.
-Gig-worthy construction (that probably goes without saying).
-under $150

I don't care how large the footprint is; my pedalboard is already too big. One more won't make any difference. I also don't mind if there's some used options to look at that I might actually be able to track down.

Am I shooting too high here? Please throw your suggestions out there.

If you want a dedicated tap tempo switch (something I demand from TT delays) rather than the bypass switch also being the tap tempo switch then you have limited options in your price range.

If you're interested in a used Vox Time Machine, let me know as it would be in your price range and fills all your categories except looping.

The AKAI Headrush might be worth looking into as well.

I had looked into the Headrush, but it looked a little too complicated. Not that I wouldn't find uses for it in the studio...but do you think it could be a bit much in a live setting?

The Vox Time Machine I haven't seen before. Very intriguing. I'll live without looping.

The boss DD series are love 'em or hate 'em but...

The DD-5 and 7 have a jack for tap tempo switch. (which is easy to find/cheap or build yourself)

The DD-7 will do up to 6.4 sec of delay, very clear, several modes (including an analog model), and 40 seconds of loop. I just bought one NIB for $120.

The DD-20 has a crazy amount of modes. Also a jack for tap tempo. Lots of modes. You input time as a metronome mark. 23 second of delay and loop (unlimited layers). You can also save 4 different settings, and easily switch between them.
Used for ~$150

Not at all too much, IMO. Live looping is very easy and the delay is very easy to use.

When you engage the looping mode (by hitting both switches simultaneous) it disables alot of the delay-specific controls so you don't have to reset them for looping (like going to the max. delay time).

I think the Headrush is definitely worth a look.

I've never seen one come down to $160, whoever picked that up probably got a great deal. $150 is my hard limit; less is definitely better.

I really don't want to mess around with a separate switch. I've tried the DD-7 and DD-20, and they sounded decent. If I cant track down anything else, the DD-7 looks like my fallback

I've tried this one more extensively than the others. I've never liked the sound of modeled effects, Line6's especially so. It was lousy modeling on a Line6 amp that forced me to buy my first stompbox a few years ago, so I'm a bit soured on the brand.

Looks like the AKAI Headrush is still the frontrunner. Now I hope I can track one down to try first.

I know you said you don't want to deal with an external tap tempo. But its so easy to build, and can be so small.

Okay, I've decided to stop being a little girl and build a tap tempo switch. If I can't manage that, I'll hang up my pedalboard for good.

So what are my options that still fit the other requirements, namely:
-Clear, distinct echoes.
-Up to 2 seconds of delay
-Looping would be nice, but I can definitely do without it.
-Gig-worthy construction (that probably goes without saying).
-under $150
