Secure speakers on stand question

I have Peavey PR12 speakers and Proline stands. The pole is enough smaller than the speaker hole that the speakers will easily rotate. Is there a proper way to keep the speakers secure and pointing the way I want them? There are thumbscrews into the speaker hole but virtually impossible to get my fingers in there to tighten - any suggestions?

That's pretty typical of speakers on poles. Just set up your cabling such that they are not pulling on the speakers and you'll be fine.

I'm almost certain that my stands came with a little adapter cap that fit over the top of the pole. If you have your original packaging, check that you haven't overlooked these. Might even have had a string running through them.

I did have the adapter tops but they are too big for the Peavey speakers!

If you were able to find longer thumb screws would that work? Besides that, you could make a shim out of PVC hose or pipe.

On some speaker stands the pole has a different size on each end. You just need to remove the pole and see if the other end fits your speaker. If not, then it's easy enough to make a shim out of cardboard or a strategically placed piece of tape to keep the speakers from rotating.

I ended up using gorilla tape part way around the pole about 2" from the end - the hole in the speaker is very slightly tapered - this did the trick
