Seeking recommendations: Balanced PJ set

So I got a lovely Pedulla Rapture V recently. Gorgeous bass, plays very nice, feels near perfect...

But the sound is.. Well, it's *good*, but the J pickup is so weak compared to the P that it sound very... "P-like", if you follow - and the J p'up soloed sounds thin and gutless. They are the stock Barts that come with the bass, and YES - I've raised the J and lowered the P - not much difference. Sooooo... thinking of trying some alternatives. And before someone says it, YES I have a pan pot so YES I could set it a touch more toward the J but seriously - the J pickup just *isn't really there*. Understand?

Any recommendations?

+1 EMG PJ's! I have a set in one of my basses and I was really surprised how thick the J pup was just solo... Whereas one of my other basses with stock pickups in it sounds great with both the P and the J together, and the P just solo, but the J is just way too thin sounding when just solo. I think you'll be pleased with EMG's!
