The lion head thing looks like it is designed squirt out water when you hang it on your wall as a fountain piece

Yuck!. It looks like the luthier was thinking "Let me see how many pickups and switches I can stuff onto a bass" rather than "Let me see if I can design a bass that's versatile and people will want to play."
