The lion head thing looks like it is designed squirt out water when you hang it on your wall as a fountain piece

It's a fugly piece of pretentious mind drizzle - a load of mince.
Get a P bass.![]()

how is this bass any different from a pimped-out Alembic, both in looks and price?
I find Alembic to be "classy" whereas this is just "tacky" imo!
My point exactly -- tacky is in the eye of the beholder.
Some people like having the Last Supper or a complete Chinese New Year Dragon Parade inlaid in mother-of-pearl all up & down the necks of their Alembics or FBasses or whatnot.
I don't. I think it's tacky.
But I don't go bashing them online, just because they're not my cup of tea. My opinion is my opinion. If someone likes all that mother of pearl on their fretboard, well, more power to him/her.
Y'know, if we didn't express our opinions there wouldn't be much of a forum.
HOW ABOUT "ROCK LOBSTER"
Roland Kaschube is a very talented and passionate luthier who is not only a bassist/luthier but also a well respected artist with a very individualistic vision. Stanley Clarke does own and play one of Rolands basses. I played one of Rolands bass that looks very similar to the one at The Bass Exchange unplugged, it balanced great, wasn't heavy or bulky and acoustically it resonated very well, the attention to detail is beyond what most would expect.
And for those who may be interested, Roland is also the publisher of the German based Bass magazine called Bass Professor
