Thanks man - yes that was all back p-up with the 'tone' control rolled off and the treble up - I used some Logic plug ins to sweeten the recorded tone - though the bass went direct via my Mackie soundcard. I used a tiny, tiny bit of chorus and a little bit of reverb, tweaked the EQ a little as well - and that's about it - the basic tone is beautiful but with a lot of recording you can enhance that with a few tasteful (I hope) additions.

Congrats, what a lovely, tasty and beautiful bass. Sei basses continue to be amongst the best basses in the world and the guys work very hard to ensure their basses match the customer requirements. The waiting is very frustrating at times (especially near the end), but only adds to the pleasure each time you play the resulting bass.

Feedback your comments about the bass and how it sounds once you've had a chance to get used to it (I'm still exploring the tonal possibilities of the SEI 9...).

YAY! Congrats man - so pleased you finally have it - I have played this beauty and loved the way it felt and sounded - the B string is just lovely.

The thing to remember is that after all the waiting and hassle and money - she's now yours forever. And the more you play the bass the more you'll discover its individual magic - and when the wood truly settles in after a year or so - well then the bass will really start to sing... you have it all to come - so just enjoy it - I hope it inspires you to reach new levels in your playing.

+1 on the improvement over time. I've had my Sei singlecut for over 6 years now, it was great when I first got it, but it just keeps getting better - the high register sings like a fretless now, and the low end just keeps getting growlier. It's the gift that just keeps on giving. :)

Thanks Randy, I appreciate the nice words, it's such a great bass to play quite inspiring in fact.

Here's another vid, a live one, with me on my Sei single cut, sadly the sound is buried in the desk mix as it was loud just from the back line (my trusty Epifani 502 and 210 cab), but the bass still looks the biz and if you stick your headphones on you can here some sub bass rumbling away!

Been real busy of late, lots of rehearsals and gigs! The Sei is working hard and it just survived a return flight from Malaga as we played a few gigs in andalucia last week, including marbella, where a drink is just way too expensive!

Fitted a J-retro a few weeks back and it has made a big difference, gone are the 2 x 3 way switches for coil selection, now the p/ups are wired in series straight into the pre.
John East added one of his tiny toggle switches for the side LED's, really neat and tidy plate, even with the addition of the extra switch
I'm really liking the sound, seems a bit more compressed than the Bart' but a wide range of tones, having the single tone control over the 3band eq is nice, makes for quick tone changes without getting into the 3 band eq. I now have the option of passive operation should a battery die!
I did buy some Nordy dual coils, a bit off the cuff, found they were too small when I came to fit them, so still with the Bart' p/ups for now
I need to do some photo's, will try next week, just got back from Spain and back at it again, ready for a big gig on Friday, we're playing Moho in manchester and have Aziz Ibrahahim (stone roses / Ian brown) performing two of the songs he wrote for Ian Brown with us, My star and Corpses. Both of these are played on P.basses, one detuned a full tone.

I have plenty of live photo's, as my daughter is usualy around with her camera as she is using the live shots in part of her uni project, which is nice!

Heres an old one with pick gaurd off, for a change!
