1stly A heartfelt thankyou to all who have enquired to my welfare both off and online. I am genuinely touched. And to those of that persuasion - your prayers have been appreciated. (My Dad was a monk and left the monastery to get involved with my Mum - but thats a whole other story

)
2ndly. I'm ok - bit beaten up and sore - but I'm fine. Funny really, I have spent the last few days going from awake to sound asleep in seconds which is great mid-conversation.
Looks like my scaphoid is going to be fine - a screw is now in place. Nick - 2 at once!! How on Earth did you cope with that one!!
The problem with the disassociated wrist was more of an issue. Apparently I'd done a real number on this one. Fortunately nothing has been fused at this stage.
I had quite a violent reaction to the anesthetic so I was kept in hospital longer than anticipated but that was acceptable - the nurses were great

So great that a good friend who is a trainee nurse came round last night to make sure the rest of me was functioning ok
So I still got full feeling in my fingers and although the whole hand and wrist is stupid swollen/painful I can move them individually. All good signs the surgeon and I are hopeful about. Providing I don't overdo it and the wrist settles that side of things should be ok.
The upshot is that everything has gone as well as I could hoped for at this stage - so I am both very lucky and very grateful.

Whatever happens I should be able to keep playing now
Been signed off work for 2 weeks until I see the surgeon to get the humongous cast off to see if I can start some physio. We can then start to worry about what ligament/nerve damage has been done but I am very hopeful.
Once again - thanks for your thoughts
