Aidan, very arty initials there! Are you thinking about a metal compartment cover (you post talked about "engraving")? If so I would check with Martin soon, as I cannot remember seeing a SEI bass with anything other than a wooden cover cut from the actual back facing on the bass. Also don't forget that this type of customising might make the bass harder to sell if you decide to at some point in the future (no matter how inconceivable it might seem right now).

Shame it has to go back, seems Martin is having real problems with quality control from his finishers. As he is a perfectionist nothing will come out until he is happy but these delays must be a right royal pain!!
Here's my latest Sei (the eighth one! aaaaagh!!). It has to go back to the finishers (Martin Sims) as the lacquer is "wavy & bubbled" where the fingerboard meets the top edge of the body - you can see the way the light is in the pic.
Saying that, the macassar ebony looks rather yummy, huh?
