That's alright, Morf.

In any case, while I'm really not into the whole flag-waving pissing contests that are going on with those involved, I do feel a need to question why there are so many people arguing with someone who put Gene Simmons first in his list of bass influences. That strikes me as being just the slightest bit pointless.
You're kidding? GENE SIMMONS? Wait, I gotta go check this out...

Yeah. He's a musical hack. He's aware of it -- so why aren't you?

I think his bass lines are great. Let Me Know or 100000 Years are really imaginative songs, I'm simply assuming he wrote them. Ive been playing bass for 6 months, get off my back seriously...

Can anyone here tell me theyve sold more albums than he has? Or have more fans than he does? Until you can i suggest you start having some respect for him.

Ok how about 80 feet? 100 feet?

I'll make it simple for ya DeGaulle. If he presents a threat to my life, he gets double tapped. You do know you can point a weapon without firing it, right?

As far as what was and what wasn't justified on this particular thread, I don't believe you've heard me say either, have you?

(And by the way, before I get generalized, I'm about the least "gun crazy" cop you'll ever meet. I don't like the things, shoot just enough to stay proficient, and don't own one of my own besides the City issue)

You didnt answer my question, and its De Gaulle with a space in between, as far as him presenting a threat to your life, hes been dead for quite sometime, sorry to kill your hopes there.

On a sidenote, I think its AMAZINGLY cheap to diss Gene Simmons. You should be ashamed of yourselves seriously. Piss poor wanabee artists that diss an international rock n roll star?? Now you've got me angry.

I think if the cop had the time to pull out his gun he had time to jump out of harm's way.

I agree. Although it may be within the law to shoot, common sense tells me that it was a stupid and irrational choice. I don't really care what transpired....if he could pull his gun out and shoot, he could get out of the way.

...and Gene Simmons sucks.

Actually I did answer your question. I don't know how many life threatening situations you've been in, but measuring a distance to make sure someone was 80 or 100 feet away, doesn't usually enter your mind.

Also, I used to be a big Gene Simmons fan. Of course, I was 12 then too.

So if a kid 20 feet away pulls a knife and walks slowly towards you, you shoot him without a warning shot?

Ironic you should use that example, a TB'ers family member (an officer) was faced with that decision couple of years ago. Shot dead, and rightfully so.

The sense of entitlement to "warning shots" is ridiculous. Someone DUMB enough pull a knife (or car) on an armed person, officer or not.....doesn't deserve a warning shot. If you're going to shoot, you are supposed to shoot to kill. Warning shots are a serious hazard, the bullets have to go somewhere. Not worth the risk, and guns shouldn't be taken lightly, or used as a threat.

Mmm yea. Well I simply dont agree with that, sorry.

I dont care if he plays bass on his records, if he wrote KiSS songs hes a great composer and certainly a very big influence. If you people think his music sucks, then tell his millions of fans how your non selling cheap bands who can barely support your own families with the 150USD you make per gig is so much better, period :D
