Does anyone have any tips on the legal side of self-publishing a book with music and lyrics? I'm basically thinking of turning the charts I have put together for my band into a "real book" of sorts.
I am vaguely well equipped for laying out the design of the book and dealing with reproduction. I am thinking of going pretty low production value and trying to sell at a pretty price point at gigs with a digital download.
Mostly what I am concerned about is how to fairly pay royalties. This project is focused on classic country and western swing, so there may be a few tunes in the public domain.
Does anyone do something similar?
