Sell my 210AV for a Reeves 1x15?

The Reeves 1x15 is certainly quite nice. I slightly prefer their 4x10, but it is also slightly bigger. ValveTrain also makes a killer 1x15, and of course, the Baer is fantastic, as is the Bergantino NV115. Both Fender options (Rumble and Neo Bassman) are excellent, as well.

That being said, I still love a pair of 210AVs. You might also consider the 212AV.

Tom, How do two 210av compare to any of the above high quality 115 cabs? I love my two 210av as far as tone and ease of moving around goes.

I know it's a bit of a cop-out, but they all sound different. I will say that with their excellent midrange presence, the 210AVs sound somewhat closer to a nice 1x15 than many 2x10's (which can, in some instances, sound somewhat mid-scooped compared to some 1x15's). Lots of caveats in there, but it really is true that YMMV.

Some good information there Tom. Thanks! I'll hear how these two 210AV cabs sound with the Gries Bass 45 when it gets finished in a month or so, then go from there.

P.S. Top of my 1x15 cab list is the Reeves followed by the Baer.

Just wondering on what you settled

with?

That a gorgeous setup.

funny thing is.. I just bought an AD200B and placed an order the the Reeves 1x15.
Awesome! Is the AD299 black or orange? You're gonna LOVE the Reeves. I searched far and wide for a long time. I almost pulled the trigger on a Fearful 15/6 (tube head size), but held out and found a guy with 2 Reeves 115s and bought them both.

I'm getting the black version. How do two of the Reeves 115 sound together?
I have only tried them together at home. They are monstrous together. With my band, which is not too loud, I only need one. I don't know what your needs are but these cabs seem very efficient as they are designed with a OBC115 and a Sunn 215 design. The 115 is about as loud and deep as my Berg 215 (with the same amp).

Im currently playing with a four piece rocksteady/reggae band (keys, guitar, drums, bass). With the guitarist using a Vox AC30 and a Fender Jazzmaster.

they aren't super loud but go for a vintage sound.

After reading that whole thread on the prototypes I'm really excited to hear how one Reeves 115 sounds with the AD200B and the Gibson SG (w/flatwounds).

If this band ever starts playing large venues I do plan on buying a second Reeves 115 at some point.

* P.S. My goal with this setup is to get back to my Bassman 135 head and Showman "tone-ring" 115 cab (loaded with JBL E140) tone but with much more modern performance.
