Sequoia or Tahoe?

Trev......from what I have been reading, I won't be needing to do any work on my Sequoia, they are that nice! Any customization work I can get done by Xzibit and the boys at West Coast Customs. I'll have my whip flossin' some 24's baby! Boo-YEAH!!

Nope. I gave you some mad props already in the thread. I was grateful for your detailed information as that was exactly what I was looking for. To have it followed up by a Chevy guy telling me to buy the Toyota just sealed the deal.

BTW.....we take delivery of our 2005 Limited in white on Wednesday. It's in the shop getting some new 24's right now!

Tell me you're kidding. If you're not, I presume you're not planning to drive on any road that hasn't been repaved in the past three years.

Which reminds me: how is it that so many people here in Los Angeles are willing to put high-four-figure sums into rims for which there is a decidedly non-zero chance of destruction by pothole? The roads here are as bad as those in Chicago or Joliet, which is a remarkable feat considering that it last snowed in downtown Los Angeles in the 1940s.

As far as road quality, it isn't all that bad around these parts. Truthfully, the major roads we drive on around here have all been repaved in the last couple years.

WA gets high marks in pretty much every transportation-related area, so I'm not surprised.

I Google-mapped Lacey and it's right near Olympia. I have a friend who grew up in Olympia near the end of a peninsula that borders the campus of Evergreen State. His whole neighborhood smells like weed pretty much 24/7, thanks to the prevailing winds... :p

Why, yes it is. I work out, and play basketball at the gym on campus. In downtown Olympia, there is an artesian well that flows 24-7. It puts the bottled stuff we all buy to shame. You can go by anytime and fill up a bottle, or 10. People do it all the time. Free bottled water quality water. Ice cold and fresh.

So Mr. McFerrin, I invite you to stop by for a latte' if you ever find yourself up this way.

Shall we take a cruise to the coffee shop (a 'Bucks, or something more appropriate to Evergreen State's politics? ;) ) in your pimped-out Sequoia, perhaps?

Regarding headroom: I drive a Mazda3 hatchback, which is an awesome car--pretty good mileage (29/24), awesome handling and acceleration, huge cargo capacity, and of course DEAD SEXY looks--but at 6'2", I am at the car's absolute height limit. The shapes of the windshield and dash lend themselves best to a bolt-upright sitting position for optimal visibility, but there's about an inch between the crown of my skull and the headliner. There's lots of room in every other dimension, but if the headliner gets too static-y bad things happen to my hair. :p I can understand how, at 6'5", you'd feel most comfortable in a bigger SUV. Even I miss the headroom of my old Cherokee from time to time, if little else (especially with gas at $2.70 regular).

I'll borrow a friends '72 Volvo wagon that runs on corn oil, and we'll head to Batdorf & Bronson for coffee. Maybe even Dancing Goats, but they serve B&B anyway. :D

We started out looking at those, but we don't need two trucks. My wife suggested we buy the Ram, and sell my F-250. Well, I had to put my foot down. There is no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that I will ever sell my Ford pickup.

Definitely a nice truck, I'll give you that much.

No Sequoia for us quite yet after all. Check this out....

We went to pick it up last week, and the dude putting on the rims tells us he may need to do some front end work to make it look right, some leveling of the front end. Fair enough. I call the dealership, they are cool with it. We take it home as is just because we want to drive it. I take it back to the shop on Friday for the rims and front end work. I get it back this morning, and it smells like cigarettes inside. The dude at the rim shop says that a few guys in his shop smoke, but no one drove it while smoking. I call him out on that. It totally smells like an ashtray inside. He won't budge. I call the dealership, they go pick up the Sequoia. We don't have one now after all. :(

Yeah, that sucks about the smoke thing. If ever I work on a car for someone that is nice, i do the whole plastic on the seat, and maybe even an armorall on a few things, just to be sure. That's ridiculous. That's why I just kep stock rims on my stuff. Of course, I'd look pretty ghetto with anything above 16's on an 85 ford ranger rustbucket!

The full-size Ford Excursion offers less front legroom space than the compact Scion xB.

Odds are your kid's compact car has more front legroom than that SUV.

The average entry-level and premium compact car has more front-seat legroom than the average full-size SUV, full-size pickup and full-size minivan.

The compact Hyundai Accent may look small, but it has more front legroom than the Excursion.

Many buyers opt for SUVs and full-size cars to get more interior space. But much of that extra space accommodates rear-seat passengers and cargo room. That can make it difficult for tall drivers to get comfortable in big vehicles.

Great link. I hopped in one of those Scion truck looking things, and I was blown away by how much room was in it. But, a friend of ours has one, so I'm not about biting his style.

The Sequoia has more head and shoulder room than the Scion, which is as important as leg room to us. Plus, I don't have to get down to get in the Sequoia.

The new Chevy Tahoe looks very impressive! I know people think reliability and fuel economy when they think of Toyota, but Chevy has a reputation for building quality trucks and SUV's! Those who are expecting 35mpg from a full size SUV can stop dreaming..but for what its worth, the new Tahoe is supposed to be pretty economical considering its size. And personally, I like the styling of the tahoe much more than the Sequoia.

Tahoe gets my vote.

Dude, you want head & legroom...you're at the wrong dealerships.

Honda Element, hands down. I've been in every single one of the vehicles mentioned here (the "Element wanna-be" Scion xB will fit IN my Element!), and by far, I have more room in my Element than ANY of the vehicles so far mentioned. I was amazed at how LITTLE room I had in the driver's seat in the Tahoe! I felt claustrophobic until I got back in my E.

(For the record, I was shopping for an SUV for my fiancee, and we ended up with the Honda Pilot, just worked better for our needs than anything else, and it's a Honda, so...I KNOW it'll be running for as long as I want it to be. I didn't just buy her an Element because we need to get at least 5 people in one vehicle from time to time, and the E is a 4 seater only. Oh, both the E and Pilot also have better legroom than the Tahoe!)

OK Gard, I'm going to trust you on this one. You've always steered me in the right direction when it comes to bass gear, and pets. :)

Since I am off work early today, I will mosy on down to the Honda dealer and check one out. I hope I can fit six or seven people in it!
