SGC Nanyo club!

I made the for selling to other Bass Collection owners in need of them. But unfortunately, as long the pandemic situation goes on, i cannot send it, because mailing companies are forbidden from accept international shipping orders. And the companies like UPS, DHL and others are charging an unsuitable price for shipping.
But soon I'll be able to send them overseas to all interested buyers from here and Facebook's Bass Collection group.
I finally have my “SGC Nanyo Bass Collections” collection complete!!
The last one arrived this morning after traveling from Germany for the last 3 months. The one on the right.
It’s “brand new“. Never been previously owned. It was part of some old stock hidden in a warehouse for Zounds.
I also have a black 5 string Warwick Rockbass that I have stained the top blue, a Cort Curbow 5 string, a Yamaha rbx800a 4 string, and a Breedlove acoustic 5 string. They are all good basses, but the SGC Nanyo Bass collections basses are just so nice to play, I might be selling off several of the other ones.

Hello out there. Found this group looking for info on my bass . . . Bass Collection by SGC Nanyo SB301. Picked this up years ago on consignment from a small shop in Santa Monica. It's been sitting in a case collecting dust for years and I have finally started getting back into it. It's been way too long since I've been actively playing; shoulda never stopped! Grateful for the knowledgeable people out there helping me understand more about what I have.

I had a tune up and re-string done recently and, after looking through some more posts and pictures, noticed my E & G strings were wound backwards . . . fixed!
One of my pick-ups is rattling around and my bridge is a little crusty with sharp adjustments on top. My recent interweb rabbit hole diving has me thinking of some upgrades: Entwistle JBXN & a Babicz Z series bridge.
I plan on playing this bass for years to come and I thought I might as well get comfy with it. Before I go too far, I'd appreciate any thoughts or comments from those more experienced.
I really like those custom covers Mr. Cruz made too!!

Found a white 5 string (P/J) a couple hours from my house. Not sure of the model but I'm attaching the cavity cover. Guy has it listed for $325 but I/m thinking it's a little steep.
A mystery is closer to getting solved! I have a Godlyke 4 string which was listed as a "prototype" when i found it. I knew a bit about the company and knew it was MIJ, but have never seen another one with the one MM pup. Also mine probably had active electronics when built. Can anyone provide any info on this bass?

Hello! I've just seen a Broadway P bass made by SGC Nanyo. It's just 100 bucks, with serial starting by 88. Do you think it's a good deal? No idea if it's Japanese or Korean.
I bought sb315 a few months back on a whim, thought was "I like my 4 string Tune tbc-4 and twb-4, but many tunes I'm playing require dropping down to a lower d and a 5 string makes sense"
It was only £250 so I thought, no bother, if it's no good I'll pass it on, while expecting that to be the case.
It's been gigged with now and it's really the go to bass, a Swiss army knife of basses.
Great for rock and a great slap / funk tone, light and comfortable.
I run it through a markbass rig (eq flat) and it's really good fun to play, I see some people replace the preamps and pups, I'm tempted but not sure of the benefit
But it's bright red and although the kids love it and I've warmed to it I think I'd much prefer the rubbed oil natural wood finish of my tunes.
Has anyone tried one of the bass centre speakeasy modern replicas of these. The 5 string walnut looks the ticket. But how do they compare? I can see a road trip to find out for myself!!!

So you have one of the Godlyke models. This was when The Sexton Guitar Company was partnering with Godlyke to produce new basses. They ended up selling this particular line to Godlyke. Go back up a few posts and look at mine. I have a 5 string with the same double buck pickup, but I also have a front pickup, and mine has a “B” at the top of the headstock, instead of a “G”. The B is for Bass Collections. The G is for Godlyke. I have yet to identify the model name under the Bass Collection brand, but for Godlyke, it’s the deity. Yours looks to be a variant of the deity.
Just to shake this section a little... I took the MEC's off my bass and installed the EMG JAX Set few months ago.
Then I replaced the Audere 4-Band Classic preamp with.... another Audere 4-Band Classic preamp! But the difference is now I have a passive tone available. 3 stacked knobs and one single knob for the tone.
One thing to mention is how good the Audere handled the MEC's, and now I can see clearly how the Alnico 5 shines with these EMG. And the good thing is the X-Series preamp made it more natural, not that "punch in your face" tone ( which I like! ), the bass still punchy and clear, but less aggressive, let's say.
Then I replaced the Audere 4-Band Classic preamp with.... another Audere 4-Band Classic preamp! But the difference is now I have a passive tone available. 3 stacked knobs and one single knob for the tone.
One thing to mention is how good the Audere handled the MEC's, and now I can see clearly how the Alnico 5 shines with these EMG. Ok, we know cellphone videos are not that worthy, they don't do justice to the bass, but it is what it is...
Just a small clip showing the passive tone, specially with the bridge pickup, bass and treble flat and mids cranked all the way up. And next, same thing with neck pickup only. Hope you'll enjoy...

VERY old thread I know but I’ve just bagged a blue one of these SGC godlyke deity 5 strings.
Mint condition but has been stored somewhere a bit damp for a long time I think so just trying to get info from other owners re: controls (vol/blend/bass/treble/notch filter?) and anything else (I think ash/maple body and maple/ebony neck/board?). fascinated to know more-seems a nice bass (especially for the £500 I paid!)
