Shake up at GK

Best wishes to you Daniel, and I'm sure any doubts about the stability and viability of GK will be short lived.

As a long time user of 400 and 800RBs who's happily stuck in the old school, I really appreciate the effort this company has made to make sure that both tech-heads and oldschool geezers alike can get the gear they need.

I'm having probs with my old 800 rb, I emailed GK tech & got a respose in 1 hour from Daniel Juarez, now that is service, not to hijck thread but I'm looking at a new 700 rb more than enough power for my needs, & according to Bob Gallien will get growly sooner than the 1001, I was thinking of going to the all tube Traynor, but the thought of a re tube every few years, it's light but still 40 lbs, not as much headroom as the 700, $200 more than the GK ,and after the GK techie getting back to me so quick, that was impressive. the only adventage for the Traynor is real tube grind which is a biggy.

The news I'm getting is that Gene from Artist Relations
and Dan Elliott are gone from GK. No one seems too happy
with Bob Gallien right now. There are rumors that Gallien
might even be thinking of unloading the company, although
this is just a rumor and could be total junk comming from a
disgruntled employee. From my limited viewpoint, both of
these guys were very good at their jobs. Dan Elliott has
been an exellent spokesman for GK on Talkbass. It will be
interesting to see what happens in the next months with GK.

Wow. Gene was always awesome to work with, and he helped me out a lot on several different occasions. He will be difficult to replace.

maybe Gibson will buy them out. :eyebrow:

hahhhaha you're bad bro........

:D

thanks Daniel and Gene!

Daniel, it was nice having a a talkbass member who physically worked for the company (GK) whose gear i use. I hope your feet land where you want them to.

I very briefly spoke to Gene several times for equipment information and getting pointed in the right direction on a warrenty claim. Very helpful.

Thanks guys.

Dan has helped me with a small issue in the past, and has been active here at Talkbass. I'm sorry to hear he has left the company. Good luck Dan!

For the record, I have also received excellent, timely customer service from others at GK as well. Last week, Jason with GK responded to my email within hours, and went above what was required for my situation.

As far GK going under....here is a snippet from an email which I received from Jason today

"...We, as of last week, have hired a guy to take over the customer/product support duties and he is more than qualified to do it. He, is a full time musician and graduate of the UOP music program here in Stockton. He brings a lot of practical experience to the job. He will be introducing himself on the forums soon.

Thanks,
Jason
GK"

I'm sure the new guy will live up to the same level of customer service as what has been the norm in the past. I have no worries, and had the wife buy me yet another GK product today, for an upcoming birthday. :)
