Shall I give (it) up?

Super Iridium,
I would be happy if this thread is going to help others in similar situation as I was.
I keep on playing a considerable amount of time.

One thing I noticed is that after jamming with a few basslines
my fingers started to loosen up.
Now I choose different stretching exercises from books and I bring them into the bassline.

Also the time after which my hand starts to feel pain
becomes longer and longer :)

I know what you mean. When I first started playing, I could barely reach across three frets, but with practice and playing, the fingers on my left hand now reach across four. Splay out the fingers of your left hand and compare them to your right hand, and you will be amazed at the difference! And I'm certainly among the weakest bass players on this site, which makes me wonder what Victor Wooten's or Billy Sheehan's left hand looks like!
