Share an album that you've recently rediscovered

Hi folks,

I'm confident that we've all had the experience of either hearing something and forgetting about it, or just completely missing some piece of music, for, I dunno, 40 years (see below).

For me recently there have been two:

What have you recently rediscovered, or noticed that you just missed in the first place?

I'm always interested in recommendations and I like all music. Except Ted Nugent. Oh, and Neil Diamond. Otherwise, anything goes. Thanks all.

After almost 45 years, I recently/finally bought Moving Waves by Focus.

Fully Completely by The Tragically Hip. (Canadian radio) hit after hit, and even the other cuts are strong.

Fifty Mission Cap is my favourite single from that album. I used to do an acoustic lounge version of that tune at parties/open stages.

Príbeh by Dežo Ursiny. Gorgeous album. Listened to a lot when I was younger and rediscovering it led to me listening to a lot more of his stuff, plus another Slovak group Chiki Liki Tu-a.

Dinosaur Jr-Green Mind has been getting some serious playtime as well as Deconstruction's self titled album which has some killer tracks on it IMO. There is/was a magicical connection between
Avery and Navarro.

I've been a huge Frank Zappa fan since ~1973 or so, and by the time I was 15 years old in 1976 I either owned or had listened to all his albums*

...or so I thought. It dawned on me not too long ago that in all those years I'd somehow never listened to Roxy & Elsewhere. I was aware of its existence, and had heard "Cheapness" and "Penguin In Bondage" and "Pygmy Twilight" but I'd never listened to the entire double album end-to-end.

Wow.


*(remember, back in '76 there weren't a bazillion posthumous releases from the vaults and/or bootlegs galore, so this really only amounted to ~20 albums or so)

I heard Tim Maia one time and put a note in my Palm Pilot. It died, and I forgot Tim's name, so I couldn't go back and visit his body of work. About 10 years later, I heard the song again. This time, I found him on Spotify, and he is part of my permanent catalog.

A now much under appreciated (by myself) part of my original trifecta of stoner rock that got me started down my current, and I believe correct, path in music. Dozer, Mother of God (with their album "Anthropos") and Mars Red Sky were the big three to me.



Oh, I guess there were these guys as well.

Been five years ago. I built my hot rod..... Teenage dream car really. Hadn't thought much about my teen music for years but wanted to take my first drive with something that moved me all those years ago. After burning numerous brain cells in thought I came up with Uriah Heeps Sweet Freedom album. Haven't stopped listening to it since.

Ghost's Meliora is such a badass album. Just discovered these guys a few months back and once I got bit I haven't been able to stop listening.

There's a lot of great bass playing (and bassists) on Steps. Sheffield Lab always had great bands on their roster, as did another great label, DMP.

Yeah, I got into quite a bit of Jimmy Johnson on those labels.
