I don't know, and maybe Sheldon will come by and answer what his plans are.

I know that at this point, the proto that was posted earlier which looks like an Afterburner has been re-designed, and its actually it's 'own' model now instead of an AB 'clone'.

All the Dingwall people are watching carefully, as we're all just as interested in picking one up as anyone looking to 'taste' their first Dingwall is!

There have been some CAD renderings of the proposed model/proto and talk about the specs and options on the Dingwall message board. Here's the thread, but note that the second half of the 14 pages will have the most up-to-date info about where things stand.

No apologies necessary, my friends. Those are some BEAUTIFUL Super-Js!

I personally would love to see a candy apple red SJ-5 with dark rosewood board, mother of pearl blocks and matching headstock. :)

Not in the cards for me these days, but it would be eye candy to be sure!

I have no current plans for another Dingwall for quite a while...but the Candy Apple Green Z fretless is always in the back of my mind.

I've made special arrangements for it to be sent to me at work so I don't run into the situation that happened with my Afterburner 1. UPS left it unattended on my front step, about 20 feet from a very busy street! Yikes...

While they don't normally encourage us to use our receiving department at work for personal use, they all understand and know that otherwise, I'd have taken a sick day or two to wait for it!!! :rollno:

I don't blame ya, on either choice there!

I always make sure that there is someone at home to recieve a delivery, I once saw them leave stuff outside my gate, without even checking to see if I was there.

I have a local mail shop where I ship stuff due to my crappy work hours....after UPS left something out on my porch....in plain sight.....in some rain........:scowl:

I have much better experiences with FedEx, and when I have something very important or fragile, I usually expedite or overnight the shipment, with the idea that the fewer days in someone else's hands, the less chance of loss or destruction.

While the Afterburner was clearly marked 'signature required' multiple times, what UPS did was go down the street and find a random to sign for it. When I followed up they said 'there's a note saying your neighbor signed for it'. That's not acceptable. I was luckily watching the tracking at work, and figured it would come up undelivered due to the sig and I'd make arrangements to pick it up at the warehouse.

Also, the bass, even though packaged in its case and multiple boxes and packing material...had been handled roughly enough to have damaged the case at the top of the headstock though the bruising to the top of the headstock was minimal. There's still a 'out-dentation' in the trim/gasket of the case as a reminder of UPS' poor handling.

I once had FedEx ground leave an EBMM Stingray5 on my back porch! The backyard is fenced in with a 6' high wooden fence, but still...some nosy person could have poked around and stolen it. It was in plain sight. :hmm:

Now I always get signature required / insurance / ship to my office - no matter the carrier.
