Double Bass Shen SB-80

Found a Shen SB-80 local for $700. Great shape, with an upgraded bridge. Is this a good price?
Also, currently I have a Cremona SB-2. Is the Shen a nicer instrument?

great price for that bass. If It was near me I'd buy it. about $500 off what I'd expect to see one at.

I'd agree, even just based on my own travel bass. Still, these are a very similar value for the money and similarly consistent!
A Polish label just contacted me about releasing the session I recorded on a hybrid Kurtz in 2006 and 2007 and the bass sounds great!

I own a shen 80

it's an absolutely usable instrument. I use it professionally for jazz often.

it is in countless ways better than the cremona bass you mention.

A fair used price for one is $1200. you are getting a steal, assuming it's in good shape as it should be. even if it needed some work, $700 is a steal.

Picked it up today!
So it's in perfect condition. Bridge, tuners, and tailpiece are all from Upton Bass Co. I'm super happy with it!

Congrats! I had a SB80 for a short time. It was a great bass but once I found out about the SB90 I had to do the switcheroo. Could not be happier. These Basses are amazing with a good setup and your strings of choice.

The setup alone is worth $700. You got the bass pretty much for free. I approve of this.
