Here's the cover art for her new live album. Never realized she played the bass. What's she playing, because it looks cool.

Guessing a DePinto based on the sparklies, wish I could see the headstock.

    And yeah, I knew. ;)

D'oh look at the knobs and bridge - it's a Gretsch!

D'oh D'oh I'm an idiot I mean Guild! hehe, got it right this time...

I was in the know as well. As another female bassist I always try to keep up with what the ladies are doing on bass.
Yep that’s her trusty vintage guild. There was a recent cover of bassplayer magazine with details on her favorite bass. She also has a vintage P for recording .
She just lays down a solid foundation. No fancy chops or licks. But she gets the job done . Said she now writes on bass and prefers it to guitar .

Does the "be myself" refer to her playing a bass instead of a guitar? :)

It's a Guild bass she's been using for a long time.
She's no Jaco, but she's as solid as a rock, as is her band. I sometimes envy a bassist who can just lay down the roots (My inner Phil Lesh always pops in for a visit).

She’s been been playing bass while fronting her band for years; for a season they had an entire back line of Kustom amps. Don’t know if those were merely visual props, though.

From the live shows I’ve seen on TV she pretty mich nails what she needs and those Guilds sound great.

I saw her several years ago and she played a Guild Starfire. It was at an NFL game, so I'm not sure they actually played, but she had on a red Starfire

The M85 has the same pickup/electronics setup as a Starfire or a JS but with a Les Paul style body. Some of them were made semi hollow, most are solid. Some of the II's have a master volume knob (it's the small one visible in the first pic). Of course, there was a matching guitar model as well.

  18. Yes, she started on guitar but started writing her music on bass after, I think 2005. There was an interview with her on one of her DVD's that I watched.
