Shipping Damage: Lost For Words

I bought a bass and dropped it in a cheap gig bag the second day. Big dent cracked paint on side of body. I couldn't believe how many people told me to take back to guitar center and say it shipped that way. Nope I did it and now it's mine. That was 4 years ago. I'll be playing it this weekend, and I feel good about myself for being a decent person and not scamming some company.
Glad it's working out well for you!

I plan to use them to Djibouti the repair.

Not really much of an update but Reverb paid me the repair funds. I plan to use them to Djibouti the repair. First time I’ve used insurance and it worked out easy. Now I need to finalize a finish color.
Happy it all worked out! I think people blow issues like these out of proportion, in the sense that out of the thousands of transactions the overwhelming majority go smooth. Its great to know that when they dont, reverb has good costumer support.

Can you technically just keep the $500? If you were trying to sell it anyway im sure you could get a really good price for it, the dings really aren't that bad. Then buy whatever bass you were gonna go for!

No shame in that. Its like when someone hits your car thats falling apart and you just keep the insurance money. No point in fixing it if wasnt gonna stick around.

I could but I kind of want to keep it now.

"Djibouti the repair" is definitely catchier, unfortunately it doesn't mean much :D

From now on I think this should be the TalkBass generic term for any repairs to body work.

“Dropped my bass off the stage Saturday. Can’t afford the Djibouti so I guess it’s just road worn now”.

Or

“What’s the best wood filler for Alder Djibouti?”

"Got a fresh dime-sized Djibouti on my headstock, how do I fix it?" :roflmao:
