If you have ever met JD (owner of Warrior) in person you would understand the overtly Christian branding of the company. He is a great guy and wants to include his faith in all aspects of the company. I live just a few miles from the factory and have been many times over the years. I don't think it should be a turn-off for a potential customer. It's not like they force you to buy a bass with a cross and a Bible verse on it. You could get a Warrior with absolutely nothing on it that is a religious marking.

On another note, I think the QC issues are pretty much gone now. I have played a couple from many years back that played like crap. I've even played #0002 that a guy I used to go to church with in Knoxville owns. It played and sounded great. I've also been told that at one point, the company didn't even have a master luthier onboard and quality suffered. I have no way to verify that, but the source is pretty reputable.

I personally love my Warrior 5 and it plays great.

Well just to make sure we're on the same page, ALL of your comments are completely welcome here.

Thing is, at least for me, the name on the instrument has nothing to do with the music anyway, because it's always just been someone's name, so a "name" rather than a "role" is the way I've always viewed it.. To be totally honest, I pretty much never really think about the brand names of any of my basses. IMHO, anyway.

The funny thing is, I can't think of a single other Luthier's name that effects me in a similar way, so I suppose its a good thing they aren't the only people making basses.

Reviving this ancient thread because I'm curious if the players here still dig their Warriors or if they have moved on. Vic's double XJ Warrior is a real looker.

I've had mine over 10 years now. I owned 30+ basses before the Warrior. I haven't bought (or really even looked for) another bass since. I have a Standard Fender Jazz, a Mexican P, and my Warrior. No more GAS.

I am the original owner of #006. Great bass but at the end of the day I sold it. I just didn't like the purple heart fret board. That had more to do with me than the bass though. It was very easy to play and really was a great bass.
