I'm looking for a short scale 5 string that has a B that speaks. I can't seem to find one MADE IN AMERICA. I have found one I love, but it's in Poland snd the shipping could pay for another bass. Anyone know a company other than that has one?Mensinger Invalid Link Removed

Carvin split into two companies, Kiesel guitars and Carvin amps. Then the amp company went out of business. So it is completely accurate to say Carvin went out of business.

Alembic will make you a shorty 5. As will Veillette.

We can agree to disagree. The guitar making business simply changed names. The warranties are even still valid even though it has the name "Carvin" on it. But you are correct, they split into 2 companies, one of which is no longer in business. I wasn't trying to get into a semantic debate, just trying to point out that the company that was mentioned is still making instruments.

Benavente, mtd and probably a bunch of other coming up. Good luthier will make a great short scale 5 for you.

Short scale 5's will always have a terrible B because no company make short-scale B-strings with a heavy enough gauge for short scale
