Hofner 500/1 (Beatle bass) has 2 "staple" humbuckers.

Totally agree, sound even better with flatwound strings, but I went for medium scale...less tight.

The Epiphone Rumblekat is a shorty with humbuckers! Allen Woody's signature bass, I upgraded the hardware just for looks, unfortunately they are only offered in wine red now.

The Gretsch Junior Jet Bass II has 2 humbuckers and won’t break the bank.

That's a slick looking bass. I like the green color. Don't see that often.

Not sure if you're just bored with the style of P and J pickups, or if you're looking for "true" humbuckers.

Actual humbucking pickups are a little harder to find in stock models, but there are plenty of short scale builders out there that are making basses with soapbar-like or humbucker-sized pickups... but most of them are actually single coils.

Nordstrand is releasing its Acinonyx bass - a tribute to the Goya Panther bass - that has 2 soapbar sized single coils:

I have one short scale with double humbuckers, this '72 Carvin SB-60. It has a crazy thin neck made by Hofner.

Besides my Starcaster, which is awesome, Inhave this thump monster Ibanez AFB 200. Great in my Americana band. It's big bodied and great sound.

Starcaster gets rock and blues for the most part. And that Fender neck is amazing. They really put effort into to making it right. It just didn't sell well.

Have to agree with a few of the other learned posters, the little Gretsch Junior Jet is hard to beat. Those 2 little Gretschbuckers sound awesome, I love mine...

Sorry....should have wiped off the fingerprints...but as I always seem to grab this little guy, it is hard to keep fingerprints off!
