I'm in a bit of a delemma because I love the sound and tone of a P-bass, but I can't play one. There just too big for my small hands. So, I was thinking about contacting my local Fender Custom Shop Dealer to see if the Fender Custom Shop could build me a short scale P-bass. Is this even possible? If this has already been asked, I do appoligize, but I could not come up with anything by searching the forums.

Short scale Fender P-bass is it possible?

Sure.
Fender/Squier even made some.
Look for the old 80's MIJ medium scale (32" I think) P's - killer basses.
I also seem to remember them offering one in the Vista Series, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.
Oh, and they also did a 32" scale Aerodyne (Japan, non-export).

A Fender Bullet Bass is another good possibility. They sound killer, look cool, and were made in short or long (Deluxe) scale.
Thanks guys I didn't realize that there were some short scale P-basses out there besides the Mustang and Bronco.

It is pretty much a P Bass with a Tele Bass neck, and pickups that look like Mustang pickups. It's called a Fender Bullet Bass, and they made a Fender version and a Squier version in the 1980's, both available in a couple scale lengths. Really cool, highly underrated basses. Great P Bass type tone, nice necks, etc - just really cool basses.
From the groove yard of forgotten threads... I used to have a short scale P bass made in the 70’s (I want to say it was ‘76, but it’s been 35 years so my memory may be a bit fuzzy...) and I’d love to find another one... I can be sure I’d never find one for what I paid (around $100 or so in 1982) if I could find one at all...
