Love that bass for many reasons. First off - it's (vintage) Supro inspired - Yamaha was part of the growth-spurt of Japanese basses/guitars in the 60's - it has the Tulip-paddle tuners I love... and it probably sounds pretty good!
Would love to hear a review if you buy it! 
It is a great all around bass. Picked up the single pickup model in red. Has a really good even tone. Pickups seem pretty quiet too. My daughter bought it as her first bass with a little help from dad (spent days scouring the internet looking for something cool). Came across this from GC of all places. They had no idea what it was and neither did I. Spent a few more hours researching it. Found it, saw the prices people were getting for them and snatched up for $150 figuring if it sounded horrible or played horrible it would be a quick flip. It was a little banged up but she loves it and I enjoy playing it as well. Very comfortable to play, good string spacing. You don't feel like your playing a toy. I typically don't like short scale basses with the exception of my 8 string. Great starter and keeper bass that she will have for years to come.Love that bass for many reasons. Hi Nancy..congrats on the Jag. I have the Gretsch and I love mine. I'm thinking of getting a second short scale and I was wondering if there are any things that you DON'T like about the Jag?

Black on a guitar/bass echoes a grand piano (tradition/classical/classic/"classy"), and black goes with everything. (especially a tux - which we shed due to the hot afternoon) I'm looking down with my left foot ready to trigger-off my fuzz pedal used for the opening of "Live & Let Die".

If the 5quier in silver had a matching headstock, I would've gone with that. Didn't like the red at all.

My favourites are "Debalby Drive, 48 Crash "and all her 12 bar blues tracks.
She's got a huge "Stage presence", for such a small cute Lady !.
