Here's another 24 fret budget bass available in the Aussie market. Venturing into sub short scale territory though with the 28.6" scale length. Upper fret access a little better than the Casino but not as good as the ESP mentioned previously

A competitor of the well regarded Mikro, with the p/j pups I guess. But with 24 frets tossed in, rather than 22.
For Aussie sellers that don't ship overseas you can use a package fwding service in Australia like SOS mail to get an Aussie address and have it sent there (free delivery in the case of Haze) and from there to your native address which of course won't be free

I'm sure a lot of TB'ers are aware of these kind of package fwding providers in various countries. That expands your ability to get equipment you might not be able to get otherwise if not available domestically or the seller doesn't ship overseas. I've got a U.S based Stackry membership for such workarounds, but haven't used it yet

Thanks! The Ibanez Mikro might be a contender. It has 22 frets but they seem easily reachable. Anyone has experience with these? Are the pickups silent or does it have a lot of single coil hum? Anyone converted that to piccolo tuning? Aren't the strings too loose on a 28.58" scale?

But I haven't used it in a while, because it's scale length is 28.5" and I prefer 30", it's what I play exclusively.
In any case, this Mikro has been modified a bit. The pickups are DiMarzio's and those are pretty quiet as can be expected from that brand. It has different bridge, as the stock bridge has some limitations. Click on the link for more details.
Strings are flatwounds, which are a bit more stiff compared to roundwounds of a similar gauge. I have no experience with piccolo tuning.

That accucast looks pretty good to me
Personally I think it looks a bit bulky on the Mikro, because of the small body.
The Hipshot B looks very elegant on the Mikro in my opinion. This forum member has the best looking Mikro I've seen so far, he's done a splendid job customising it:
I really like my aluminum Hipshot B style bridge but I had to have my local tech install it for me as none of the holes lined up.

the Mikro club was my first TB hangout when I got a Mikro.
