Sorry but I don't want a 24 fret 6 string fretless Jazz with an extended single cutaway and a bubinga topI think it'd be interesting if Fender actually reached out to TB folk for serious input on a new bass.
I'd like to see the Performer brought back with a 5 string version available (also tight spacing) and better, active electronics. I hated those stupid pickups, but with EMG PJs it was a fun as hell bass. Fast neck too.

Honestly, of anything new Fender has come out with in recent years, I thought the Jag would actually beat the curse and survive. But I guess it didn't sell enough to stay afloat.
Can we agree, that young people, on the prowl for the perfect bass du jour, should at least check out, touch, and consider Fender, 2011 or used?
If Fender wants a segment of the market covered, FMIC will acquire a company covering that segment.
The Fender brand and the Fender company are two different things.
As for the Prophecy... that thing looks like a soundgear... which Ibanez does better, obviously. I've never played one, but I'd wager many other potential buyers felt that way.
I think most people buy a Fender because they want a Fender. I know I'm not looking for something modern when I look at Fender.
