Wow... easily adjusting to neck and the bass is super fast for both right and left hands.... possibly my favorite bass ever! Needs new tuners but otherwise perfect!!! Amazing instrument...
Prob gonna make me sell my cherished usa sub 5 fretted bass...
Give it a chance, and the chunky neck becomes a favorite for sure! Mine don't even feel chunky at all to me anymore, it just feels right. Thin necks feel too small to me now.
Also, regarding the volume difference between active and passive- unless yours is somehow very different from mine, I tend to just roll the volume back to about 8 or so when I play active, and if I go passive, just bump it to 10 and the volume difference is negligible. Definitely nice for a quick tone change if you have your eq set in a specific manner. Complete agree about your comments on the high and mid controls: I rarely boost the high (and if I do, it's only +1 or 2 at most, but typically I leave flat or cut) and the mid control can completely alter the tone to give a ton of options without tweaking anything else. Combine that with Warwick's being extremely responsive to hand placement (leave the eq set and play over the neck, neck pickup, bridge pickup, or anywhere in between) and you can get a huge variety of extra tones. Makes it really nice if you want two different characters in the same song!
