That depends on if you want cheap knockoff tuners or the good ones. The ones you listed are not the correct style either, a simple visual check would have told you that. Good ones, including direct Ibanez replacements, are really expensive here. Don't take my word for it, I only live here. I also had to get my quality replacement tuners when I went back to the states. Again, the good ones cost a bit more here.

I've spoken with a parts rep from Hoshino Gakki from their Pittsburgh location. I had to replace the gold tuners with black ones for a SR655PB I had purchased a few years back. I was instructed on an assortment of Gotoh style tuners that will work for the SR's. However, I must admit when I looked up Ebay.UK; I was able to find such styles that would work. I guess depending on where you live might pose a problem. I think we could agree the investment would be wise for an expensive instrument.

First, stop putting words in my mouth. I never said anything about it being junk.

Second, it has been badly taken care of (several missing parts and shoddy replacements) which puts its provenance in doubt. So, all in, 30% of retail 10 years ago for a project/restoration isn't too bad.

I never put words in YOUR mouth. I put blame on EVERYONE in this thread, including a poster who called it a "beater" bass. The bass is not in mint condition but, I'm failing to see what everyone else is claiming. The bass is missing (a) string, and (a) truss rod plate, and needs tuners. I've seen basses sold on this site with the exact same issues. Unless the truss rod is broken and the frets need to be re-worked; this bass can be redeemed. I don't see missing knobs, broken headstock, missing nut, or missing pickups. I'm just giving my 2 cents on what I'M SEEING like everyone else. Besides it's not like the seller is being unreasonable by asking for close to retail.

Check it out. You may need to put some work into it. If you have the patience for that then you may get a bass for a decent price, especially if you talk the seller down. I can give you some pointers on soldering.

If you don’t have the patience for doing your own work then pass.

Absolutely Not! Life is too short to fiddle around with crappy basses. Save your money.
